Why Should I Volunteer?
The Wildcats are part of SAC and therefore The North Hempstead Cup is OUR home tournament. The Columbus Day tournament financially benefits the Wildcats and other SAC clubs. The Wildcats are responsible for organizing and running the games played at Tully Park. Our organization always wants a strong showing supporting the Tournament — with team participation and volunteers.
You also will earn volunteer hours that help your team. The time you volunteer earns your travel team money back in the form of reimbursements. You know how important that can be to your team!!
What is SAC?
SAC or Soccer Advisory Committee is the 6-member youth soccer organization of North Hempstead Town. The clubs in SAC are Albertson SC, Garden City Park Generals SC, Great Neck SC, Manhasset SC, New Hyde Park Wildcats SC, and Port Washington SC.
When WIll You Need Me?
We need to have volunteers throughout the day conducting a variety of tasks from field setup and takedown to being a game Marshal. We ask that you volunteer time in 3-hour blocks beginning at 6:00am all the way through to 10:00pm. This will be on both Saturday and Sunday of the tournament.
Am I Eligible to Volunteer?
We appreciate all the help we can get, but there are a few things you should know. You cannot volunteer if you are scheduled to be playing. A good rule to follow is to volunteer on your off day. (Girls teams will play on the 10th, Boys teams play on the 11th) Other then that — Parents, coaches and players over the age of 13 are all eligible and welcome to help us out.
