The NHP Wildcats S.C. has again partnered with the MLS New York Red Bulls to provide training for our Intramural Program (U4 through U9).
Following is a brief description of the spring 2012 programs.
Micro Soccer (U4 & U5)
The micro soccer program is a 8 week program (weather permitting)
Professional soccer trainers will introduce the game of soccer to the children utilizing age appropriate games and skills training.
Separate and distinct U4 and U5 sessions follow a weekly progression of skills/game-play that emphasize touches on the ball.
Micro U4 session will last 50 minutes whereas micro U5 will be 60 minutes.
Session Start Times:
U4: 9:00 am, 10:00 am, and 11:00am. NOTE: All micro soccer takes place on SATURDAYS.
U5: 9:00 am, 10:00 am, 11:00 am and 12:00 pm
You will register for a specific session time for the entire season. Space is limited. Register for the time sessions on a first come, first served basis.
U6 & U7 Intramural
Players will be divided into teams with volunteer coaches.
Teams (players & coaches) will be provided with 45 minutes of skill based training by a professional trainer.
Training will be followed by 45 minutes of small-sided games supervised by a trainer and run by the coaches. The games will be 3 v 3 and 4 v. 4 formats with the emphasis on players learning to play offense and defense while maximizing touches of the ball. Scores and standings will not be maintained.
Teams are encouraged to practice once a week with their coach to hone skills and build upon the MLS New York Red Bulls sessions.
Session Day & Times:NOTE: Teams will rotate start times throughout the season.
NOTE: Start times may be adjusted as much as 45 minutes depending on registration numbers.
Boys U6 - Saturdays at 12:30 pm and 1:15 pm.
Boys U7 – Saturdays at 2:00 pm and 2:45 pm.NOTE: ALL U6 and U7 sessions run 90 minutes
Girls U6 - Sundays at 12:00 pm and 12:45 pm.from the start time.
Girls U7 - Sundays at 1:30 pm. and 2:15 pm.
U8 & U9/10 Intramural
Players will be divided into teams with volunteer coaches.
Teams will play an 8-week schedule of games that includes play-offs.
Teams are expected to practice during the week.
Boys U8 games have start times on Saturdays between 12:00 and 2:00 pm.
Boys U9/10 games have start times on Saturdays between 9:00 am. and 12:00 pm.
Girls U8 and U9/U10 play between 11 am and 3 pm. on Sundays.
U8 & U9 Developmental
In additional to the team games/practices, U8 & U9 players can sign up for the U8/U9 Developmental Program. This extra is additional skill based training by professional trainers. There is an additional fee of $65 per player for U8 & U9 Developmental Program.
Separate and distinct U8 and U9 Developmental sessions.
The Developmental Program will be held as follows:
Girls U9 @ on Saturday 10:00 am
Girls U8 @ on Saturday11:00 am
Boys U9 @ on Sunday 10:30 am
Boys U8 @ on Sunday10:30 am
U8 & U9 Pre-Travel
Players register separately via the NHP Wildcats website.
Teams are broken into Major, Intermediate and Minor teams based upon the number of players registered and the recommendations of the division director and coaches.
Teams play against other clubs within Nassau and western Suffolk County.
Girls U9 generally play on Saturdays late afternoons.
Boys U9 generally play on Sundays late afternoons.
Participation is dependent on registration numbers.

U11 – U14 Intramural
This intramural program is for U11 & older players who are not playing travel soccer.
Teams play against other towns within a limited travel area.
Location
All Micro Soccer, U6/U7 sessions & the U8 & U9 Developmental Programs will be held at the Denton Ave School Field. The location of U8, U9/10 games and U11 & older games: to be determined.
Dates
The 8-week Intramural Season begins in early April 2012 and runs through June. There will be no intramural or developmental sessions/games on the weekend of Easter or Memorial Day Weekend.

These fees are separate from and do not include Travel Soccer.
Players registered after December 31, 2011 will be considered late. For your child to be registered you must include the $25 late fee. Late registrations cannot be guaranteed placement on a team.
